1982年東京生まれ。東京藝術大学デザイン科、大学院で映像・デザインを8年間研究。放送作家を経て、2010年よりアートディレクターとして活動する。主な仕事はTOKYO2020パラリンピック開会式入場パートや、サントリー「人生には、飲食店がいる。」、日本マクドナルド「ティロリミックス」。
作家活動としては、ツボの表面とアウトラインをセンシングし可視化するプロジェクト「壺レコード台」、数学の難問、サラリーマンセールス問題を活用し日本担当のサンタさんの最効率ルートを導き出した絵本「クリスマスのキセキ」など、オリジナル作品を不定期に発表している。
Born in Tokyo in 1982. Koyanagi studied film and design for eight years at the Department of Design and Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts. After working as a broadcast writer, he began his career as an art director in 2010. His major works include the entrance segment of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony, Suntory’s “Life Needs Restaurants.” campaign, and McDonald’s Japan’s “Fries Beat.”
Alongside his commercial work, he also creates and presents original projects. These include “Tsubo Record,” which senses and visualizes the surface and contours of ceramic vessels, and the picture book “The Miracle of Christmas,” which uses the mathematical Traveling Salesman Problem to calculate the most efficient delivery route for Santa Claus in Japan.
